Learn to Dive FAQs

Is scuba diving safe for beginners?

Yes. Scuba diving is very safe when you learn with a certified instructor and follow proper training. Beginner programs like Discover Scuba Diving and the PADI Open Water Diver course are specifically designed to teach you the skills step by step in a controlled environment.

Is it difficult to learn how to scuba dive?

Most people are surprised by how easy scuba diving is to learn. The training is broken down into simple steps, and your instructor will guide you through each skill until you feel comfortable.

Do I need to know how to swim to learn scuba diving?

For introductory experiences like Discover Scuba Diving, basic comfort in the water is usually enough. For the Open Water Diver certification, you'll need to complete a short swim and float test to demonstrate basic water confidence.

What is the minimum age to learn scuba diving?

Children can start learning to scuba dive with PADI from age 10 through the Junior Open Water Diver certification.

Do I need to be fit or have a medical check to scuba dive?

Scuba diving does not require extreme fitness, but you should be in generally good health and comfortable in the water.

Before any dive course, you'll complete a short diver medical questionnaire. Most people can participate without any issues, but certain medical conditions may require approval from a doctor before diving.

If you're unsure, feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to help.

What equipment do I need for a scuba course?

We will provide all the essential scuba equipment, including the tank, regulator, BCD, wetsuit, mask, fins and weights. You will need to bring your swimwear and towel - nothing more.

How long does a scuba certification last?

Your PADI certification does not expire. However, if you haven't been diving for a while, it's recommended to take a refresher before returning to the water.
