Your day begins at our dive shop in Tulum, where you’ll meet your guide and any other divers joining the trip. We take time to get everyone properly fitted for equipment, complete any necessary paperwork, and make sure everything is comfortable before setting off for the day.
Once everything is organised, we load the equipment into the guide’s truck and head out together toward the cenotes. Unlike ocean diving, cenote adventures take you inland, away from the coastline and into the jungle. Casa Cenote is only around 15–20 minutes from Tulum, making for a relaxed start to the day.
After the short drive, we arrive at Casa Cenote, where your guide will give a full briefing covering the dive route, communication and what to expect underwater.
Casa Cenote offers a very different experience to many other cenotes. Open, light-filled and surrounded by mangroves, it feels more connected to the natural jungle environment, with crystal-clear water, fish, turtles and the chance to spot the famous resident crocodile often seen resting near the surface.
After the first dive, we pack up and make the drive to Dos Ojos, around 25 minutes away. The final stretch follows a bumpy jungle road before arriving at Dos Ojos, one of Mexico’s most famous cenote systems.
Your second dive takes place along the Barbie Line, the brighter and more open of the two Dos Ojos routes, known for its crystal-clear water, beautiful light effects and impressive cavern formations. Before entering the water, your guide will give a full briefing specific to the route, dive plan and conditions.
After the second dive, we take a short surface interval to hydrate, refresh and change tanks before preparing for the final dive of the day. Since the dives at Dos Ojos are relatively shallow, there’s usually no need for a long break between dives.
Your third dive follows the more atmospheric Bat Cave Line, offering a completely different feel underwater. Before entering the water, your guide will give another briefing specific to the route and anything unique to this particular dive. With darker passages, dramatic formations and a more mysterious atmosphere, it’s the perfect contrast to the brighter Barbie Line and a fantastic way to finish the day.
Following the dives, we enjoy a freshly prepared lunch, share stories from the day, and many divers take the opportunity to log their dives or compare photos before changing into dry clothes and heading back to Tulum.
